\u201cWitch Hunt\u201d <\/strong><\/span>by Cate Conte \u2013 First in the \u2018spell-binding\u2019 Full Moon Series<\/em>, featuring Violet Mooney, crystal shop owner with mysterious, undeveloped powers she didn\u2019t know she had. Murder, magical transport from spot to spot, reappearing relatives, unhappy townspeople, and other-worldly shenanigans, all play a role in this delightful series. \u201cWitch Way Out,\u201d book #3, is out now as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Midwife\u2019s Touch\u201d<\/strong><\/span> by Sue Harrison – Filled with wonderful descriptions of customs, food, and clothing of the period, this book combines the powerful stories of the prejudices people have against what they don\u2019t understand, with the greed that overtakes their sanity. I turned the last page and was so disappointed that the book had ended. But, it is the first book in a trilogy, and to quote a line from the book, \u201cWe start from there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cKillers of a Certain Age\u201d<\/strong><\/span> by Deanna Raybourn \u2013 nominated for multiple awards. 60 something,\u00a0 lady assassins are betrayed and elect to get their revenge in the ways they do best. Wicked fun, clever twists. Never underestimate smart women. Ever.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“The Guardians”<\/strong><\/span> by John Grisham – <\/span>Functioning within the limitations of sporadic donations, the overworked guardians find new evidence to exonerate the wrongly incarcerated. The \u2018Guardians\u2019 in the title refers to Centurion Ministries and this story is based on an actual case written about in the New York Times in 2018. <\/span>Grisham\u2019s writing is compelling as fictional Cullen Post faces the challenges of witnesses long dead, evidence lost or buried, and grueling – sometimes dangerous – work. A fascinating read, one of Grisham\u2019s best.<\/span><\/p>\n
